It is so simple, but a key strategy for creating Facebook engagement is to ask questions.  You will likely get an answer. Voila – instant engagement!

Need some help thinking up some appropriate questions to ask?  Try these tactics:

  1. End your status updates with a question:
    • I’m thinking of running a marathon next March.  Good or bad idea?
  2. Make your entire status update a question.  The question can be related to business or more conversational in nature.  Examples include:
    • What do you wish you knew more about as a first time home buyer?
    • What is your favorite Thanksgiving side dish?
  3. When you do a Facebook post that links to your blog content or an article on the internet, make the text associated with the link a question. It doesn’t have to be directly related to the link. For example, if you write a blog post on local Christmas tree farms in your community, post the link on your Facebook page and ask “Where is your favorite place to buy your Christmas tree?”

Start asking away!  It’s a great tip for creating conversation and engagement on Facebook. Do you agree or not?
